Alicia Hood worked at a cardiac surgery practice while pursuing her PTA degree. In 2020, she graduated from the University of Indianapolis with her AAS in Physical Therapy Assisting and was awarded Top Scholar and Nora Francis Founder’s Award.
She proceeded to work at Indianapolis Public Schools in the special education department, where she provided therapy services to students to assistant them with being able to access all their schooling needs. Alicia also worked PRN for Ivy Rehab and Ivy Rehab for Kids, where she provided outpatient patient care to adults and pediatric patients.
Alicia is active with the University of Indianapolis Physical Therapy Assisting program and is a member of the IN APTA Early Professional Task Force.
Alicia enjoys helping patients recover from any limiting condition. She loves being a Physical Therapy Assistant as it allows her to gain the knowledge from each individual therapist she assists and makes her a well-rounded clinician for any patient and condition. She enjoys working with various patient conditions/injuries. Alicia is scheduled to attend the nine-month post-professional residency program at Body One/University of Indianapolis for the advanced training of physical therapists.
When Alicia isn’t helping patients at Body One, she and her boyfriend will be spending time with their two miniature schnauzers. She also loves college basketball, watching her boyfriend play softball, traveling to see family, and beach vacations.
